Winter Circuit
A 12-day seasonal journey linking Kabul, the northern plains, and the central highlands while keeping enough flexibility for winter roads, weather, and domestic flight schedules.
The Route
The journey begins with time in Kabul before moving north toward Mazar-e-Sharif and Ancient Balkh. Depending on the operating plan, northern travel may be by road or domestic flight.
A route-dependent day can use Samangan's Buddhist heritage sites or the Kunduz agricultural belt before the itinerary returns toward Kabul.
The second half of the journey is planned around Bamyan when winter road access permits. If the road does not support the planned movement, the itinerary is adjusted rather than forcing the route.
Winter in Bamyan
When access allows, the Bamyan portion combines valley heritage sites with winter landscapes and a weather-dependent day toward Band-e-Amir or viewpoints in the Koh-e-Baba area.
Snow, road conditions, daylight, and temperature all affect what is practical on a given departure.
What This Tour Is For
This journey is for travelers who want to see Afghanistan outside the main spring and autumn travel seasons and who are comfortable with an itinerary that remains responsive to winter conditions.
The northern route, the choice between road and flight, and access to Bamyan can all change as conditions change.
